How to Wash Dishes by Hand

Instructions:-

   Step 1
   Stack dirty dishes into neat organized piles on the counter. Example: plate pile, bowl pile, cups with utensils in them, and pots with pans.

   Step 2
   Fill one side of the sink with hot water and dish washing liquid. The hotter the better. Fill each cup containing eating utensils and each pot and pan with hot water to soak on the counter and put one of the piles of dishes in the sink while it's filling. I recommend starting with plates, then bowls, then cups, and save the pots for last. The harder the dish is to clean, the longer it will need to soak.

   Step 3
   Once the sink has filled (not to overflowing), begin washing each dish and place it in the sink side with no water. Be sure to scrub the entire dish and not just the part used. Long scrub brushes can be used for cups and containers that are too small for your hand to fit in. If the dish has difficult particles on it, put it back in the hot water for more soaking and go back to it later.

   Step 4
   Once the first load is done the next pile to the hot water, then proceed to rinsing each dish. Make sure all the soap is gone and that the dish is clean. If the dish is still dirty, put it back in the hot water and wash again with the next load. Place the rinsed dish in a dish strainer, on the counter with a towel on it to absorb moisture, or in the dishwasher to dry.

   Step 5
   Continue washing and rinsing each pile until all the dishes have been cleaned. If you run out of space for drying, stop washing and dry each clean dish with a wash towel and put away to make room for the rest of the dishes.

   Step 6
   Once all the dishes have been cleaned, be sure to put them all away so that the next time you have to wash dishes, it's a fresh start. Drain the dirty water, clean the sink, and wipe down all the counters.
